tyler — For some this may be crossing the line where you stop preaching and stat meddling.
Everybody knows the first lady has been on a kick the past year about getting kids to get up, move and practice better nutrition.
Well, that's a good thing.
You can look around and see most of us could drop a few pounds and get in better shape.
Through the first lady's efforts, school menus have been changed. There's even been various stories about kids sneaking snacks in the cafeteria, almost creating a black market lunch cartel.
But, it's human nature. You tell us we can't have it, we want it and get it.
This morning I heard now military bases, following Michelle Obama's lead, will change their menus around.
Really? Well, they are.
But this leads me to this.
I think the government has its paws in too many things, like education.
Since the schools takes federal money whether they need it or not, I guess they are forced to comply.
But this got me thinking. Yesterday we did a news story on "should people on food stamps be allowed to buy snack food with that money."
Well, the government is 100% involved in the food stamp program.
Since it is, why hasn't the first lady been all over that?
She seems to worry about other segments of the nation not eating healthfully.
But, as far as I know, she has never taken the food stamp program head on. And I wonder why that is?
To me, let's fix that first. These folks need government help. That's the place to start.
I wonder why no one has ever thought of that?
That's my point of view, what's yours?
