TYLER — On 02-09-2012 at approximately 9pm, the Tyler Police Department was notified of a vehicle that had crashed into a vacant office building belonging to East Texas Medical Center Hospital at 1001 E.
Lake St. Upon arriving on the scene, officers observed a blue and gray 1994 Ford F150 truck inside the building.
The truck had struck another vehicle in the parking lot before hitting the building. Witnesses advised that the driver of the truck had fled the scene on foot.
After a brief search, officers located the driver of the vehicle.
He was identified as Christopher Britton, age 42, of Palestine. Britton was arrested and charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident as well as Driving While Intoxicated.

UPDATE: Tyler Police tell KETK the driver of the truck was pealing out when he lost control hitting two cars and building.
The driver ran off leading police on a short chase.
The driver has been arrested and charged with DWI and evading arrest.
No names have been released as of yet.
Tyler Police responding to a truck hitting a building on East Lake street in Tyler.
It happened just before eight thirty.
Tyler Police tell KETK.. a truck was weaving in and out of traffic and swerved and hit a building.
No word on any injuries.
KETK does have a crew on the way.
