MARSHALL — A Marshall man wanted on a parole violation was arrested Thursday afternoon after a chase involving several law enforcement agencies.
Jessie James Washington III, 29, was arrested about noon after officers tried to stop him for running a stop sign at Wood and West Houston streets in Marshall, Assistant Chief Leland Benoit said.
Benoit said Washington appeared to comply with the traffic stop, but then sped away.
The chase continued from Marshall on U.S. 80 toward Hallsville until Washington stopped his vehicle near Fire Tower Road, got out and ran.
He was arrested a short time later.
