Singer Whitney Houston died Saturday at the age of 48.
Her publicist, Kristen Foster, announced the news today, but she did not say how Houston died or where.
Houston ruled as the queen of pop music until her voice was ravaged by drug use, erratic behavior, and a stormy marriage to singer Bobby Brown.
Houston was one of the world's best-selling artists from the mid-1980s to the late 1990s.
Her success crossed over from music to movies ... where she starred in hits like "The Bodyguard."
Houston has won six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 AMAs and two Emmys.
She had one child with ex-husband Brown.
