Galveston deputy jailed on child sex charge

Arrested Monday on charges of aggravated sexual assault on a child

Galveston — The Houston Chronicle is reporting; a Galveston County deputy was arrested Monday on charges of aggravated sexual assault on a child in Grand Prairie, a Galveston County sheriff's spokesman said.

Miguel Zapata, 44, a deputy at the Galveston County jail since September 2010, was arrested in Galveston and taken to the jail where he worked.
