TYLER, TX (KETK) - — Let me be the first to say how sad I was a few days ago when I learned of Whitney Houston's death.
Even sadder to know her ex-husband went on with his show that night and a day later her hotel room where she dies was already being rented out.
Then, again...the hotel business is about---the hotel business and that means renting rooms.
The thing that gets me the most was what the governor of New Jersey did.
He has mandated since Whitney Houston was from that state that all flags be flown at half-staff.
I had to hear that again.
But, its true.
The governor, Chris Christi is a huge music fan and like to point out all the talent that has come from that state.
Bruce Springsteen...Frank Sinatra.
But-the flag is half staff is all wrong.
Let us remember ms houston by buying her music.
Remembering here family in prayer.
But.. Lowering the flag needs to only be for heads if state....and military heros.
The reason I guess this all hits me wrong is we still don't do enough for our real heros...the military.
Many are still in Afghanistan..or fresh home from Iraq.
New York City has still not given them a parade.
Were any flags lowered for those who gave all?
I am so weary of this red-carpet pop culture world we live it.
Here is who should be getting the red carpet treatment, our military heroes.
And should have the flag flown at half-staff...in their passing.
It's one thing to entertain us.
It's another thing to give all for us.
That's my point of view whats yours?
