TYLER - Water drilling companies are all over East Texas, and we're told a lot of that has to do with the number of wells in the area.
Since East Texas has a large rural population the need for wells is higher, plus the sheer cost of having water piped to your property can get quite expensive.
One expert says there's a lot of east Texans relying on water wells and if the state suffers another drought like last year, expect to see even more.
Roy Rodgers with the Neches and Trinity Valley Groundwater Conservation tells KETK, ""I can't speak of all of East Texas, but my district covers Henderson, Anderson, and Cherokee County and we estimate somewhere between ten and eleven thousands wells in these areas."
