TYLER — Dozens of east Texas vendors displayed state of the art products at the 2012 Home Products Show in Tyler this weekend.
A lot of the products at the show were new energy efficient ones like LED lighting, air conditioning systems and solar panels.
Right now, there are tons of government incentives and rebates being offered to home builders and buyers who participate in going green.
Experts say over the years, energy efficient products for the home have become more affordable.
"We've been here about three years, and have noticed a large increase of interest in the solar because the electric demands have gotten so high, the cost of electricity has gotten so high, that it's actually the return on investment is a lot more feasable to the average person than what it would have been ten years ago," said Samuel Garrard of Texas Responsible Energy and Efficiency.
He says each year, more people go green to save money in the long run.
He says using energy efficient products can dramatically lower a household's electric bill.
