TYLER, TX (KETK) - — Fire officials tell KETK they arrived on the scene around 5:30 Saturday night, put out the fire a little after six.
Fire officials could not confirm the cause of the fire, but KETK spoke with one of the property owners who said tehy had been burning brush the day before, and thought they had put that fire out completely.
They also tell KETK that they saw the flames while taking picture at a nearby business and called the fire department.
They tell KETK that the fire was low to the ground, and fire officials say that it covered between ten and fifteen acres.
No one was hurt during the fire.
Smith County Fire has confirmed that crews are battling a grass fire on County Road 3109 near Winona.
No details yet on how big the flames are or how widespread the fire is at this time.
