GLADEWATER — GLADEWATER - A Gladewater man has been charged with intoxication assault and fleeing the scene of an accident after a Saturday wreck sent him and another person to a hospital with injuries, damaged new vehicles at McKaig Chevrolet and a fence at a local church.
Trent Sasser and his passenger, Lauren Phillips, were taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview with undetermined injuries following the wreck, Gladewater Police Chief Farrell Alexander said Sunday.
The investigation remains ongoing, but there is evidence of alcohol and drug use, Alexander said.
Sasser was driving Saturday evening in the 600 block of South Loop 485 when he hit a 2012 gold Toyota Camry driven by Zuleyma Ventura, Alexander said.
