Kilgore, TX — Tuesday marked another milestone in the history of Kilgore ISD as officials, students and contractors kicked off the district’s latest construction projects with a groundbreaking ceremony.
The $55 million bond project was approved by district voters in May. Included in the bond is a 103-acre parcel to build a new Maude Laird Middle School and Kilgore Heights Elementary School.
Longview-based RLM General Contractors is the general contractor for the project at U.S. 259 South and CR 186.
The district purchased the property — the site of a former drive-in movie theater — to build the new schools as part of the bond project.
