The No. 2-ranked White Oak roughnecks will play for their first state basketball championship since 1957 after knocking off No. 1-ranked defending champion Idalou, 67-45, today in a Class 2A state semifinal at the University of Texas’ Frank Erwin Center.
White Oak (36-1) will take on Brock (30-7) at 2 p.m. Saturday for the Class 2A championship.
The Roughnecks led 25-14 at halftime against Idalou and took a 54-33 lead into the final quarter.
White Oak has won 31 straight games since falling to Clarksville in December.
