The little basketball team had some big accomplishments Friday night in the Big 12 tournament.
Missouri, small and exceptionally quick with its four-guard lineup, beat Texas 81-67 in the semifinals, enhancing its chances of receiving a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament next week. The Tigers (29-4) also assured that the Sprint Center wouldn't be half empty for the championship game today.
That was a concern when Baylor defeated Kansas 81-72 in the earlier semifinal.
Phil Pressey and Kim English scored 23 apiece for Missouri, combining to hit 17 of 23 shots.
Pressey's 23 were a career high for the sophomore point guard.
English converted nine shots before missing for the first and only time of the night.
