Lufkin, TX — Angelina County commissioners met on Tuesday to consider a light menu of agenda items.
The county insurance committee’s recommendation for the implementation of a wellness program for county employees was approved by commissioners.
County officials hope the new wellness program will encourage employees to better take care of their health, resulting in savings for the county in insurance premiums.
“Our medical claims have (gone) and continue to go through the roof,” County Auditor Eddie Gray told commissioners.
