tyler — There is nothing bad about a school girl going with friends for a Spring Break vacation.
When you are the president's daughter, it's a whole different deal.
When you are a presidents daughter who goes to Mexico --- a country so dangerous right now,
even the Texas Department of Public Safety says don't go ---you have a problem.
I saw the story posted Monday.
One of the presidents daughters is down in Mexico for Spring Break. The trouble is they send 25 secret service agents with her.
And reporters pick up the story.
If you run a payroll, that's an expense when you consider how much each person costs to be down there, plus to feed the agents and room and board.
The taxpayers are footing that bill and that seems excessive.
The president's daughter does deserve some time off, but why not go some place a little safer?
This was not a good choice.
Such a bad choice that it's public record now. The administration has asked a lot of national media to pull the story.
And of course they did.
To me, that's the real story.
Of course the White House says the story needs to be pulled for the daughter's safety.
But this is naive because you know the media is going to pick up on any 1st family child no matter where they go.
So the Huffington Post and sites like that were more than happy to pull the story.
But I think the White House wants it pulled because it shows a tin ear in a down economy having to to pay for that much manpower to keep her safe.
And it didn't look good in an election year.
That's why I think the administration wanted the story pulled.
That's my point of view, what's yours?
