A driver crashed his car into a backyard pool in Vancouver, Washington early Friday morning.
Crews responded just after 4 a.m. to the report of a crash.
"The car was traveling south on NW 21st Avenue when it left the roadway, crashed into a fence and landed in the swimming pool," Dawn Johnson of the Clark County Sheriff's Office said. "A cover on the pool prevented the car from sinking."
The driver, an adult male in his 20s, climbed out of the car and firefighters found him walking near the scene.
He was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
A crane was used to pull the car out of the pool just after 9:30 a.m.
The Clark County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
