TYLER — A little after 1 on Thursday, Tyler P.D. responded to a bank robbery alarm at a Regions Bank on the loop in Tyler.
"Black female...wearing what looked like a homemade ski mask and dark clothing produced a large butcher style knife and demaded money from the tellers," said Andy Erbaugh with Tyler Police.
Police say after she left with the money and took off in a black Chevy Impala...employees were able to tell what some of the license plate numbers were.
"By chance, there happened to be a Tyler police officer in the area who saw a vehicle that matched the description of the suspect and stopped the vehicle and it happened to be the person that robbed this bank," Erbaugh said.
27-year-old Vanessa Ashford of Shreveport was apprehended by police at University and Lazy Creek in Tyler.
After a search of her Impala, Police found a bag full of money and an exploded die pack in the trunk.
If the circumstances of this robbery sound familiar to you...you're not alone.
Police say while they were questioning her, Ashford confessed to robbing the Telco Credit Union last month.
That security footage also shows her weilding a big knife with dark clothing.
There were no injuries reported in either robbery.
Ashford was arrested for aggravated robbery in both cases.
First degree felonies -- and her bail is set at around $750,000.
