TYLER - Seventy-three, thats the number of shoplifters that Tyler Police have arrested since thanksgiving.
That number is up compared to the same time last year.
Jamie Tymes manages the game exchange which is one of six stores in the region.
She says shoplifters seem to roam the isles of all six of their stores more frequently during the holiday shopping season.
She says it doesn't all happen when they're open.
Jaime says,"we've actually replaced all of our locks, replaced all our doors, and if we have to we're going to start putting metal bars in front of the door so they can't reach the glass windows."

Co-owner Gerry Tucker says,"shoplifting is a problem, its just every year it seems like its getting worse and worse and worse."
Both stores report that their shoplifters include former store employees as well.
