tyler — It's always been conventional wisdom in Washington D.C. that the president sets the agenda for legislation and the most important weapon, the president has the bully pulpit.
But, this week president Obama has been a bully in the pulpit.
After last weeks argument for Obamacare at the U.S. Supreme Court, an event even liberal commentators have called a train wreck, many Dems have been hand-wringing and thinking the presidents key legislation is on death row.
Let me say again, the court has already made up its mind and now are writing their opinions.
But, this week a prickly President Obama really, for lack of better words, called the supremes out.
Saying it was wrong for the court to slap down a law passed by lawmakers.
But, the surprising thing is that is exactly what the Supreme Court is in business to do. To knock down any law that is unconstitutional.
I don't know where the president has been, but federal courts have been doing this for a long time.
Look no further than the state of California.
The people pass law, the court comes in and reverses an election of even the voters.
Usually when that happens, Democrats are happy. Now that this gun seems to be turned the other way it's a travesty.
Politics never ceases to amaze me. It is high school with money.
One side indignant about what the other side is doing until they do it.
Let me say again, who knows if Obamacare will be struck down or will stand.
Whatever the decision, it's beneath--- or at least used to be --- for the president to
play chicken with the judicial branch of government.
That's my point of view, what's yours?
