Longview, TX — LeTourneau University students, led by senior biology education major Megan Hillmann of Simla, Colo., will lead a new event on campus called “Pray the Loop” at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 13. The event is designed to unite people in prayer around the university’s campus loop. Hillmann said she hopes the event will become an annual tradition.
“Pray the Loop is a call to all believers from every facet of LeTourneau University to take just 30 minutes to stand together to pray for God’s direction, protection and will to be done at our alma mater so that we can fulfill His will in every area,” Hillman said. “We will lay down our worries, stresses, and fears as we pray that the common heart on campus will be to ‘Seek ye first the Kingdom of God’ before we pursue ‘all that will be added unto you.’ Whether you are a student, faculty, staff, alumni, trustee, parent, donor and any anyone else who has been touched at all by this wonderful university, we want to see you there!”
Hillmann said that prayer sheets will be available, and she hopes about 1,800 people will completely ring the loop of the university.
LETU President Dr. Dale A. Lunsford applauds the student’s initiative.
“This Pray the Loop event is a great example of how our students seek God’s direction for themselves and for their university, and it is especially gratifying that this event will focus on our founder's life verse during our homecoming weekend when so many will be back on campus,” Lunsford said. “We hope community members who support the university will feel welcome to come participate with us.” LETU’s homecoming weekend is April 12-14.
