Kilgore, TX —
The 21-week, 182-hour course, will prepare graduates to work with a licensed pharmacist.
The class will meet from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays from May 5 through Oct. 6, in the Bert E. Woodruff Adult Education Center in Kilgore for classroom instruction of 142 hours.
The remaining 40 hours of the class will be taught online.
Tuition is $2,100, which includes books and supplies.
Starting salaries for pharmacy technicians range from $9 to $17 per hour in East Texas.
Students will receive a certificate of graduation upon successful completion of the course and are eligible to sit for the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam.
Students who pass the exam may apply for licensure by the state as a Pharmacy Technician.
Students must be at least 18 years of age and hold at least a high school diploma or GED.
Prospective students may register at the front office of the Bert E. Woodruff Adult Education Center located at 220 N. Henderson Blvd. in Kilgore.
Deadline to enroll is Thursday, April 26.
