Suspect takes children on chase in southwest Houston

HOUSTON — Police were searching for a man who had his young children with him during a high-speed chase with officers.

Houston police flashed their lights at a Ford F-150 about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday along the Southwest Freeway feeder road near Westpark. Officers spotted a man fighting with a woman inside the pickup.

"There were children in the truck," said John Cannon, a Houston police spokesman.
