Kilgore, TX - David Cleveland, Executive Director of the East Texas Council of Governments (ETCOG), the regional planning organization for fourteen East Texas counties, has announced the appointment of Bettye Mitchell to the ETCOG management team as the Director of Aging Programs. In this position Mitchell will be responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of a comprehensive, coordinated human service delivery system for nutrition and support services for seniors throughout ETCOG's fourteen-county region.
Mitchell brings with her over 30 years of experience serving seniors in a wide variety of settings. Prior to accepting this position, Mitchell was the CEO of Lifespan Care Solution Group, a Tyler based company that provides training and consultation in management, leadership development, aging and disabilities, cultural diversity, long term care, protective services and strategic planning. She has also previously served as a former Director of the Texas Adult Protective Services Program and the Deputy Commissioner of Long Term Care with what is now the Department of Aging and Disability Services.
