An alleged inappropriate relationship with an inmate landed an Angelina County jailer in custody Tuesday night.
Eight days ago, Angelina County Sheriff’s Office officials became aware of an alleged inappropriate relationship between longtime jailer Kelly Wilson, 40, of Huntington, and an inmate, according to ACSO Capt. Allen Hill.
Initially the sheriff’s office launched an internal affairs investigation, but because it cannot legally investigate one of its own employees due to the conflict of interest, the department called in Texas Ranger Steve Rayburn.
His investigation indicated that Wilson had violated the rights of a person in custody by having an improper sexual relationship, Hill said. She was arrested Tuesday evening.
