Longview's Chris Davis is off to a good start this season for the Baltimore Orioles.
Longview News-Journal Sports Editor Jack Stallard told KETK's Danny Elzner that Davis is not striking out as much.
"That's the key for Chris. He's seeing the ball well. He's hit in seven of his last eight games. He's walked more than he's struck out. He's making pitchers throw him his pitch now. His power numbers are up. He's hitting .333 with five homers and 13 RBI. He's hitting left-handed pitching. That's been a knock on him. Lately he's hitting .385 against lefties. That's better than against right-handers. If he keeps that up, he'll have a good solid season."
