Nathan Adrian looks to capture an individual gold medal in this summer’s London Olympics. Adrian helped the U.S. Men’s team win gold in the 4x100 meter freestyle relay in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Adrian’s relay team set a world record in a preliminary heat in Beijing four years ago, yet, the U.S. relay team went on to break that record in the finals with the help of Michael Phelps. However, since Adrian swam in the qualifying heats, he still came away with Gold.
This summer he looks for individual glory in the 50-meter freestyle. Gary Hall Jr. says he has all the confidence in Adrian. Hall took home gold in the 50-meter freestyle in both the Sydney and Athens Olympics.
Adrian admits he still gets nervous on the blocks, but maybe that’s not a bad thing.
“I think there’s a level of excitement and anxiety that can even really help you at that level”
Coverage for the Swimming Olympic trials runs from June 25th through July 2nd on NBC.
