Fort Worth mulls-over the idea but decides to table it for council meeting this week
Tyler — A suggestion was made last month to help save the City of Fort Worth money by not hiring smokers.
Supporters said it would help cut healthcare costs. City spokesman Jason Lamers says city staff will not suggest the council discuss it at Tuesday's meeting after reviewing all suggestions from employees.
East Texans talk-back on the idea of not hiring applicants because they smoke.
