American gymnast Jonathan Horton hopes to pilot the U.S. Men’s Team to gold this summer in London.
Horton took silver in the horizontal bars and bronze in the team competition back in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
This year’s push towards the Olympics hasn’t been without tribulation, Horton broke his foot in last falls World Championships; however, he’s made a full recovery and has his crosshairs set on the competition this summer.
“I want to be able to lead the team and beat Japan and China for the first time since 1994, and stand at the top of that podium. The Olympic games are huge. It’s the pinnacle of our sport and it’s why we train.”
Men’s gymnastic qualifications begin July 28th.
