Longview — When the Longview City Council meets tonight, City Manager David Willard will give council members a mid-year assessment of where the city stands in its budget.
The mid-year report comes days after the Gregg County Appraisal District released revenue estimates showing the city’s tax base shrank by 3.8 percent this past year. Also, latest sales tax report for the city showed that revenue stream is flat.
Willard said he will provide estimates on where city staff thinks they will be at the end of the fiscal year.
“I am happy to say that we are operating within our budget,” he said.
