Yahoo is about to name a new leader.
CNBC confirms CEO Scott Thompson will step down.
He came under fire for listing a computer science degree he never received on his resume.
Thompson has only been on the job a matter of months.
He took over the troubled internet giant in January.
The Wall Street Journal reports the Yahoo board of directors will meet Sunday to accept Thompson's resignation and appoint Ross Levinsohn as interim CEO.
