Fatal Longview shooting victim was set up, mother says

Longview — A Tuesday night shooting that left a 23-year-old Longview man dead and at least two other people wounded may have been the result of a setup, the dead man’s mother said.

“He was giving someone he knew a ride and was set up to be robbed,” said Sharron Abercrombie, whose son was found dead at the scene in South Longview. “He was trying to be nice. He got killed trying to be the good guy.”
