tyler — The FBI and Tyler police officials believe the the man responsible for yesterday’s armed bank robbery at Compass Bank may be responsible for several other bank robberies.
Authorities have dubbed the man as the “Loan Ranger Bandit”, due to the banking institutions where loans are given and that the suspect wore a Texas Rangers hat.
Investigators believe he robbed the Summit Bank on the 1100 block of Highway 35 North in Benton, Arkansas, on January 16, 2009 and again on June 30, 2011. The Bandit then came to Tyler and robbed the Altra Federal Credit Union located in the 5500 block of Troup Highway on August 11, 2011 and is responsible for robbing the Compass Bank on the 6900 block of S.
