East Texas Lumber death, Kilgore police investigate

KILGORE — On Friday, a man was killed at an East Texas lumber yard.  A man shopping for wood at East Texas Lumber died after a pallett of lumber fell ontop of him.  The company tells KETK a forklift operator was lifting the wood into place, when it suddenly dislodged.  Because of its weight, investigators say Joseph Barber of New London was killed on impact.

Kilgore Police Captain Roman Roberson says accidents like these are rare.
