Smith County — UPDATE: The shooter, 27-year-old Johnathan Daniel Johnson, has been arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault.
Johnson's bond is set at $150,000.
Original Report: A late night shooting in Smith County left one man nursing his wounds at a local hospital.
The incident happened shortly before midnight on the 20,500 block of County Road 26.
Authorities tell KETK Kevin Brantley, 35, was shot in his lower abdomen by a 27-year-old black male. The identity of the shooter has not been released.
Brantley's wife and the shooter's fiance were arguing when he tried to break them apart. For unknown reasons, the shooter pulled a gun from his waistband and shot him once.
No arrests have been made at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
