The Dana Corp. manufacturing plant located in Longview Business Park will be closing in August leaving 210 workers jobless, according to the Texas Workforce Commission.
In a notice released Tuesday, the state said it has been notified by Dana officials the plant will close by Aug. 23.
“This is not a surprise for our employees,” said Chuck Hartlage, Dana spokesman. Company officials and the plant’s workers have known the plant was targeted for closure once it’s main customer — the Shreveport plant that makes General Motors mid-sized trucks — closes. [1]
