Boyd, Parker to meet in Pct. 3 runoff for Gregg County commissioner; McKinney prevails in Pct. 1

Gregg County — Gregg County voters settled one commissioner race Tuesday, while another will go to a July 31 runoff.

Incumbent Pct. 3 Commissioner Gary Boyd emerged as the top vote-getter in a four-way race to keep the seat to which he was appointed in 2010. With about 45 percent of the votes cast in the Republican primary, Boyd heads to a runoff with former Kilgore Mayor Joe Parker, who drew about 29 percent.
