Farmers market opens 2012 season with abundant produce

Longview — Produce was abundant but customers were rather scarce at the opening day of the Longview Farmers Market at the Longview Fairgrounds.

Daphine Claiborne, who helps organize the market, said the warm, wet spring has led to a lush crop of fresh vegetables. However, the rain on Wednesday morning seemed to have kept some customers away.
