West Texas came to East Texas.
Tommy Tuberville, the Texas Tech coach, talked with KETK's Danny Elzner about the resurgence of the Big 12.
Coach Tuberville said, "Each year I've come to Tyler, I'm wondering when you get back to your cell phone what's going to happen. Somebody else is going to leave, there's talk of going to the Pac-12, it's been a mess. Uncertainty has affected us all. But we went to our Big 12 meetings a few weeks ago and it was the first time I've gone to those meetings where you looked around the room and everybody's happy. We got a huge bowl game against the SEC champion. There are rumors about teams from the East Coast coming our way. Last year it looked like everyone was leaving. This year we're strong enough to be bringing in other people. We've come a long way."
