Tyler — Artists have just a few days left to enter Gallery Main Street’s next art exhibit, “Macro: The Art is in the Details.”
Entry deadline for the exhibit is Monday, June 11. Two- and three-dimensional art will be considered for the show, which will run from June 27 through Aug. 6 at the gallery, which is at 110 W. Erwin in Downtown Tyler. Entry guidelines are available at www.downtowntylerarts.com [1]. Those interested should click on the Prospectus/Exhibits link.
All exhibits at Gallery Main Street are juried. Artists submit up to three digital images to the gallery to be considered for inclusion in an exhibit. Those images, stripped of identifying factors, are sent to a jury panel of professional artists who score each piece. The top-scoring pieces are selection for inclusion in the show. The piece that scores highest wins Best in Show.
The opening reception for the exhibit is set for 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 30.
“This is a new day and time for exhibit receptions,” said Gallery Main Street Curator Ashley Foxx. “As our exhibits grow and become more popular, we are adding depth and dimension to the opening events. We’ll be adding more music, dance and other art forms to this and future receptions.
“I’d like to add that all of our opening receptions are free and open to the public to enjoy,” Foxx added. “We have some remarkable artists in this area, and we invite everyone to come and enjoy the art.”
