Downtown Tyler’s popular ArtWalk continues on Thursday, June 14, 4 to 8 p.m., throughout the downtown area.
More than 20 visual and performing artists will display their work at the event, which is organized by the Downtown Tyler Arts Coalition under the umbrella of the City of Tyler Main Street Department and Heart of Tyler, Inc.
“This ArtWalk will be unique in that this is the first time many of these artists have participated,” said Gallery Main Street Curator Ashley Foxx. We have several dynamic exhibits planned, including an outdoor demonstration of blacksmith art, numerous musicians, painters, jewelry artists, ceramicists and more.
“We turn downtown Tyler buildings into instant art galleries for the evening,” Foxx said. “Businesses and agencies as diverse as salons and sandwich shops open their doors to artists and the public to boost the presence of the arts in downtown Tyler for the evening.”
The public will be sure to find something for every taste, Foxx said. She added that most of the pieces on exhibit are available for sale as well.
“ArtWalk is an excellent way to add to your fine art collection and to support our East Texas artists,” Foxx said.
The event is free to attend, and the public is invited.
In addition to the free arts attractions available downtown on June 14, Liberty Hall will feature the movie, “Four Weddings and a Funeral,” starting at 7 p.m. A ticket purchase is required to see the movie. More information on Liberty events is available at www.libertytyler.com [1].
