SHREVEPORT, La. — An American Eagle flight had to make an emergency landing at the Shreveport Regional Airport Tuesday morning.
Officials tell KMSS American Eagle flight 2871 was heading from Jackson, Mississippi to Dallas, Texas when the pilot noticed the smell of smoke coming from a possible electric fire. However, no fire was actually seen by the crew.
As of 2 p.m., the plane is still at Shreveport Regional being checked by mechanics and safety personnel. Once the plane is deemed safe, it will be cleared to continue its flight.
A total of 48 passengers were on board at the time of the incident.
