Two Longview women contacted The Panola Watchman to share their experiences with Bernie Tiede and the late Marjorie Nugent after they saw Bernie in a Longview theater.
Zelda Johnston and Bobby Jo Walker, residents of Buckner Westminster Place, a senior living facility, sat down with Rodger McLane in the formal dining room of the Panola County Chamber of Commerce to share their memories of Tiede and Nugent. Both ladies knew of Bernie because of trips they took together to the musicals in Dallas, and various other trips sponsored by a bank in Longview. Walker first met Nugent and her husband in the 50s.
