Tyler, Texas — If you are looking to start your own business and feel like you would need the help of an angel to do so....you might be in luck.
The Angel Investors Group has formed an East Texas organization helping small innovative business owners either start businesses or expand their existing businesses.
Director of the Small Business Development Center at Tyler Junior College told KETK that he helped form this group so that entrepreneurs could get a helping hand in starting a business. Proudfoot told KETK that in order for there to be more jobs in the East Texas area, there needs to be more innovative businesses.
However, sometimes banks can not take risks on small business, so that is where the angel investors step in. There is a group of investors who meet with potential business investments to see whether or not they feel the business would be profitable. The businesses are required to submit their information and then present their company to the group of investors.
Proudfoot told KETK that there are over 50 small companies who have uploaded their information to the database waiting for review.
He also said that he hopes to continue helping these small companies, because after all innovation brings profit, and profit helps the local economy.
