Lufkin, TX — After six hours of digging through smoldering rubble, Lufkin Fire officials found the body of a Lufkin woman who died in an overnight house fire on Humason Street.
The fire broke out around 1:30 a.m. Monday at 607 Humason, according to Lufkin Fire Marshal Battalion Chief Steve McCool. Two women along with one of the two family dogs managed to escape through a broken window, he said. Dora Ramos, 65, died in the blaze, according to an Angelina County death inquest report. The other family dog also perished in the fire.
