Sales tax revenue for Lufkin, Angelina County continues upward slope

Lufkin showed an increase of about 8.2 percent

Lufkin — The Lufkin Daily News is reporting; Lufkin and Angelina County in June continued their trend of monthly increases in year-to-year sales tax revenue, according to a state comptroller report released Wednesday.

“It’s fantastic news,” said Jim Wehmeier, director of economic development for the city of Lufkin and president/CEO of the Lufkin/Angelina County Economic Development Partnership.
