Nacogdoches, TX — In addition to local opposition of TransCanada’s Keystone XL Pipeline and its breakout project in the Gulf Coast Project, several cities have joined the Sierra Club in a lawsuit against the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Those cities include Recklaw, Gallatin and Alto, which are part of the 391 Commission, or the East Texas Sub-regional Planning Commission, against the pipeline.
More people are gathering to begin the Tar Sands Blockade, coordinating nonviolent protests along the pipeline route to stop the pipeline. The local STOP (Stop Tarsands Oil Pipeline) group is gathering facts about the blockade movement before joining in, STOP member Vicki Baggett said.
