KILGORE — The Texas Shakespeare Festival in Kilgore is in the middle of its 27th season.
They're the only professional acting company in East Texas...1400 trained actors from across the country were auditioned for the 21 acting roles.
The company performs 2 Shakespeare plays, a non-Shakespearean classic, a musical and a kids show.
And managing director John Dodd tells KETK they even have a little something for those that either don't like Shakespeare or don't mind having a little fun with the source material.
"We also have a fundraiser which is the "Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged." It's 3 actors trying to get through all 37 plays of Shakespeare in 90 minutes...comedy ensues," Dodd said.
Dodd tells KETK, the festival will continue through July 29th.
All of the performances are at the Van Cliburn Theatre on the Kilgore College campus.
