LONGVIEW — A Longview police officer was arrested over the weekend in Upshur County.
Upshur County Judicial records show that Aulderson Levi Franklin posted a $5,000 bond on Sunday, after being arrested and charged with assault family violence, where a victim's circulation or breath was restricted.
Our news partners, The Longview News-Journal, report that Franklin was commissioned in February as a Longview Police officer.
The paper reports, Upshur County Sheriff deputies were dispatched to Orange Rd. in Big Sandy around 9:45pm on Saturday, where a relative of Franklin's had been choked.
The felony charge of "assault family violence, impeding breath" could result in a sentence of up to 10 years if convicted.
