Officials said Tuesday they believe a jailer might have helped a Bowie County Jail inmate escape.
Marques Tervon Franklin, 18, was again taken into custody Saturday afternoon after escaping that morning.
Officials said he escaped between 5:30 and 6:30 a.m. from the jail on West Front Street in Texarkana. Franklin’s shirt was found in a nearby alley.
Bowie County investigators received information that Franklin was at a Wake Village residence where Lt. Jerl Palmore and Investigator Robby McCarver found him later.
Franklin ran out the back door of the residence when he saw the officers and jumped a fence. Officials from several agencies caught Franklin.
