Tyler Police responded to a traffic accident involving a passenger car and a motorcycle on University Blvd. just south of the Loop.
A 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo turned southbound onto the 3600 block of University Blvd. from a private drive.
The 2002 Honda motorcycle was accelerating from the Loop on University Blvd and struck the passenger vehicle.
The motorcycle operator received serious injuries and was transported to ETMC ER for treatment of his injuries.
The motorcyclist was apparently not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was not injured in the accident.
No names are being released at this time. The accident is under investigation by TPD Accident Investigators.
